Modelik xfv-1 In Redriver silver
This is a model of the Modelik Lockheed XFV-1 which I was given as a gift. I had a pile of Redriver paper I haven't used so I thought his was a perfect time to put it to use. I scanned the model first then built it as printed but overlaid it with the Redriver paper. I find the foil paper to be too thin and flimsy all by itself. So in effect I built the skin twice. The results are a very sturdy model overall. A trick I follow is to coat the paper after printing with clear coat. Then you can clean the glue off easily without damaging the surface. I was very impressed with the design and everything fit perfectly. However I feel it is grossly over designed in that it has far more structural pieces than I think is necessary. Also they designe the intake ducts with a form so they fit perfectly inside the model. However, once you assemble the intake cowling you cant see them. I figured this out halfway through and decided to just paint the inside black. The ducts are a complete waste of time which could take as long as the entire model took to build. Anyway, hope you enjoy.
My next model is the XFY-1 which was a Convair version of Lockheeds plain |

I also have both kits, and a package of red river paper, and was going to do the same as you have done. Your photos set the bar pretty high, I hope my models come out at least half as nice as yours. Don't forget, the French also had a tailsitter, and there's a card model of it available also.

It's the SNECMA C.450 Coleoptere - cf. GPM - Coleopters - 1/33 . The model is much better than you would anticipate due to the rather poor cover.
