Well yes you can damage the part if you use too much pressure of the tool is not polished enough. Avoid aluminum as it will discolor the paper for sure unless anodized I think... Here is a picture of damage. Wing part was ready to go then I dropped a drop of glue on it. I printed it all over again, cut it out and carried on. That is what I like about paper. Quick recovery. Try that in resin...

BF 109 happy to spread knowledge useless or not..

Finished now

Here is the final set of images, overall a nice and quick build. I chose to put this in a wheels partially deployed position. Because I liked the way that looked on Daves cover page. This will require a stand, but I was gonna do one for Chris's Dad anyway.
Bye for now....

Thanks man! That looks AWESOME! Really did a great job

I also want to add that the wing root fillets look really spot on! Dave did a great job on alignment of those graphics! I think thats one of the moxt touchy spots of these builds.

Great work all around
Chris

The fairings are not perfect but they do look passable.

Tip for builders: these new fairings do allow for a nice concaved curved fit
so shape them well into the body!

actually the wing fairings are a little off...
they need to be moved back a bit
but then the D-Day stripes won't quite line up.
(not dixon's fault)

easy fix with a little bit of black and white watercolour though

I will try to fix that problem
(one of these days...when I get past 50 other jobs in queue!)

The wheels up/down idea is a good one!
I like it!
Considering the Marek gear attachment design is not the best
and the gear eventually sag anyway, its a good option.

The cover pic is actually a pilfered screenshot from a flight sim game
and then I did some photoshopping and turned it into the Virginian!

I thougtht it looked pretty good for a two day build Dave.
Saw the problem on the fairings and soldiered on.
I did like the model overall. These are quite fun to build.

looks great! That stand is a great design! How does it attach? Can the model be lifted off?

Stand

All my stands are designed with balance as the key point. So yes the model lifts off the cradle so it can be looked at and set back down. There is no attachment just sets in posiition. Shipping to you this morning.
