F4U 1D Corsair FlyModel-Gomix 1/33
I haven't posted any construction report for quite some time. Well, here it's my current project.
I started this model because a Corsair was my first ever scale model back in childhood (1/32 scale), as a gift from an uncle who is a Vietnam Veteran. Now I found it in paper. Let's see how much I damage it. |

I looked for another construction report about this kit, and I found nothing! You can find all other Corsair threads, but not one from this kit.
The canopy, as usual, is the one to begin with. There are two wires as seat bases. The control panel also have the option of adding a transparency as the panel's glass. All these pieces are for the cockpit. I had many troubles with the piece in the middle, because I thought it was over the seat, but no... it goes beneath the front cabin. |

Excellent beginning, Gerardo.
I'll let Dan say that it looks like a Corsair. Another memory: during WWII, a Chance-Vought test pilot's wife lived downstairs in our duplex house in Pittsburgh. He gave me his cast-off Air Trails magazines and sometimes flew over the house and wagged his wings. So the Corsair was the first airplane I could identify. Don |

Looks good! I wasn't going to say it looks like a Corsair, but I hate to let my audience down - so it looks like a Corsair

Thanks Dan, I hope you are going fine also with your Corsair.
I had to delay build, because I'm on-call on my work. But soon more. |

Thank you friends.
I've been "on-call" on my work, and they are not giving a break. Not until now I can give more updates. I always had troubles with the fuselage antenna, so I've decided put it from the beginning making it larger to have a better grip from the inside (I hope). And here is the piece. No troubles so far. Very good design by Luckaz. This part of the internal structure is at the same time part of the aft wheel. There is also place for the brake hook used on carriers. |
