Thanks for the interest everyone. I was trying to see how fast I could come up with a model, and the answer is no shorter than a month, even for a relatively simple design (yes, simple, I wasn't even trying to recreate the details... [the Comet, hint hint]).

My own vision for all time is to make more models of this quality available for circulation so when someone mention the word "free models", the first reaction will no longer be "oh you mean those toys around the internet?"...

Oh the real thing, the speculation about the new fighter is as Zathros said, it just ISN'T a stealth fighter. And personally I can't believe the PLAAF came up with a stealthy engine design either. So the F22 will still rule the sky for quite the time to come for sure!

From now on I'll be copypasta'ing the build by Wind, set to finish before a model exhibition in May. I'll watch and see how it goes.

There are 24 A4 sheets in all, 7 of which are formers. Wind told me during design that for 1:33 he wanted a little more formers for structural strength. Well he had his way... Now he's paying the price, having to cut this much formers isn't going to be comfortable!

The instruction sheets

So Wind begins by making a start on the nose cone. More to follow later...

@P & Foxbat:

Thank you for your kind words. I will try to keep my model to the highest standard possible

@AssafM:

I enjoyed the cooperation a lot. When this model is released you'll get a change to build it as well

More on the updates

As I am not too familiar with ejection seats, my model only includes a basic shape for it. Wind is not fine with that. Having learned Rhino recently he enjoyed himself by making a more detailed ejection seat, used on the Chinese J-10 and J-20

Starting the work on the cockpit...

...And skinning the nose cone

At least the fit doesn't seem bad at this stage, to my relief...

Looking great

Looking great as always Lex. Congrats to you on the quick design, and to your friend Wind on what's shaping up to be a great build.
