Well Mark, it is as good as done by OldTroll standards. In keeping with the (modified) terms of the OldTroll's Challenge, you can have your purchase price refunded or you can have a Fly Model Sunderland, postage paid by me. Naturally, we'd love to see the build of the Sunderland but that is not a condition of the offer. This build has been most entertaining and impressive - I know you are capable of doing the Sunderland!

Hi Shrike,I went to Cosford museum at the weekend to see the real thing, believe me your model is as good as the real thing only more entertaining.I hope you take up Old Troll's offer and do a build thread here as she who must be obeyed knows how much I love the Sundeland and it will give me an excuse to be glued to my monitor. Keep up the fantastic work

Oooh ick! You happened to pick one of the 4 engined kits I already have in my big stack. I suppose I could have my cake and build it too<g> I've also got some bid on your eBay stuff, so consolidation of shipping should work.

The Sunderland kept passing through my thoughts during this build.
12mm longer span and 52mm taller, but 150mm shorter, and certainly less massive.
OTOH 4 radials- albeit not detailed, three glazed turrets and movable fowler flaps.

Not sure what's next, but I think the next few will be smaller and more precise.
Having proven to myself that these huge kits are doable the Sunderland will move up the list.

Hmmm...maybe if I offer an alternative to the alternative...how about a GPM Messerschmitt Me 323-D2 Gigant (166cm span, 86cm length)? It should be a breeze after the Vulcan...

Ooh, the Gigant. Not to plug or hijack a thread, but the FG version was a nightmare to design and build, I'd be afraid of the GPM version.

SIX radials.

Now I'm convinced there is a conspiracy!

And thus it is done!
After 119 days (not all spent building) and 141 photos (not all posted) I'm officially done.

Fantastic! You did her proud...so what was your final choice - $$$, Sunderland or Gigant?

Sorry, Rick, but I think I'll hang on to the BUFF (at least for a while longer...).
