Ok actually it starts here.
Remember a while back when Ron was clearing away the avalanche of paper in his collection? >here<
He put forth a number of "Challenge Models" and being a glutton for punishment I took him up on one. I present for your viewing and Schadenfreudig pleasure, Fly Model Nr 71. Avro Vulcan B.Mk2. This thing is bloody huge. There are eleven (11 that's one more than 10) A3 pages of pages to be laminated to various thicknesses of card (0.5mm to 2.0), eleven more sheets of card parts and 7 pages of diagrams. The Blue Steel hanging underneath is bigger than most WWII fighters. Did I mention this thing is big? I'm almost at a loss as where to begin. When in doubt, make wheels. By the time you need them you probably won't want to make them anymore

I look forward to seeing this come together. I purchased one of the 'Challenge Models' (I believe it was the HE177 Greif, but also could have been the Skot or the B24) from Ron, but (as is obvious that I didn't note exactly which model was the challenge one) I don't plan on actually taking the challenge. Too many other models to build first.
Good Luck! |

Except for it being a diversion from the A-8, I think this will be a very enjoyable build thread for the rest of us.
I like the workbench shot -- four half-filled bottles of Elmers, a bottle of India ink, one yellow and four black Magic Markers, multiple erasers for forming compound curves, and a jillion colored pencils. Don |
