First serious issue with the model....
I think I have the solution (see photo) and I will test it probably tonight but this is something beginner might give up the kit about...
Of course the easiest solution is not to build separate control surfaces and in this case everything fits.

Framing for the wing appears to be seriously udersized since, if built as designed, frames will be well inside of the cutouts for control surfaces

PS
Don't mind the glue - I apply it quiet liberally in places out of sight

Good work, Mike. I will keep this in mind when I attempt my Ki-100 . . . and if I try building it with movable ailerons.

Yes, me too. I have this model and every good intention to build it! I'm now particularly interested now that I know a little more about it. Pretty neat.

I'm happy to report that my solution worked :D
One more thing - parts 60L and P are reversed....
During the next modelling session I should have the left wing completed and installed. What's left are those little frames that go into the flaps, top and bottom and there is a lot of them....

After the initial problems with the framing are overcome, no problems with the rest of the wing construction or mating it to the fuselage.
Still missing are small parts that hold the flap at the correct angle - I will installthem after both wings are done to avoid any possible damage during model handling.

Wing fillet is always a problem but this one goes on without a glitch.

That's a superb fillet, Mike. Outstanding craftsmanship in every respect.

Thank you for the kind words.
Despite the issues with the frames, it is a very nice model to build.

She's a real beauty Michael - fantastic fit and finish all around. Is that a true relief in the top surface of the wing (the 2 or 3 access panels), or exceptionally realistic shading? I didn't notice any cutouts in the skin in your previous wing building photo set, so thought I'd ask.

Adam

I just noticed the same in the fuselage, as well as the shading effect of the rivets. The positioning of your lighting really carries the effect and had me going there! :-)
