The X Plane Files
Inpired by Umtutsut's question if there was an X1b, I'll start a thread about all X planes that are available, and specialy the one's that are not, to wake up all those designers that have a problem picking a next subject.
 I was always interested in all kind of experimental planes, and I collected them. There are quite a few around, but it will always be a niche subject, so perfectly for papermodeling , because they cost a fraction of a plastic or resin kit. First we start with the 'real' X planes, and in this case we go by the book; this book; Monographs in Aerospace History Series Scroll down, it's no 31 American X Vehicles, by mister Jenkins & Landis, 63 pages with pictures. Later we can go for the XFV's XB's ,Lifting bodies,and so on, and non American..  The X-32 is actually closer than one might think: It is the download sction of this forum "aviation". Mybe somoeone will create a X-47 also? Ok it is unmanned, but it is an X-plane isn't it? Northrop Grumman X-47A Pegasus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
