P 51 Mały Modelarz
Howdy
This one is a temprorary break from scratch built Blackout of Transformers - which is posted in Alternate Dimensions http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/a...s-blackout.htm I just want to do something that is finished as a design. And more to the point do it as clean as possible (this time ...). So here it goes. Of course it already have few errors: cocpit tub seats to deep in fuselage, fuselage isn't smooth on section connection in some places and so on. But that's first model that I made from ready kit, I mean normal paper with 120 or so and not a some miserable 80 from computer printer. You can compare it with my previous Mustang - done the cheap way: P 51 Halinski/ModelArt |

New pics
To avoid windshield frame sticking out from fuselage I modify it a bit. And the frame g is avoided too. It was already so rigid that I didn'n t need it at all. |

Thanks Ron
So far so good, it's only start so everything could get worse... At the beginning I wanted it with rotating prop and now I'm not that sure anymore. I think that it would look better when it's glued to fuselage, there's no gap beteen and all. |

P 51 MM after long break from it
Good morning
It didn't happen great many times before but with Herculean effort somehow I managed to get back to this one. So here it comes, the wings were bit tricky and quite naturally I had to get them wrong a bit. |

Big thanks
I do try my very best with this one. Firstly it was meant to be a present for my best friend. Secondly with so much history concerning the pilot it just doesn't seem right to done it poorly. And the pilot who flew it? Polish finest ace. Stanisław Skalski And I mean it. Under his command PTF the Polish Fighter Team (also known as Skalski's Circus) in Africa was considered as best fighting unit. Oh did I mention not just an best Polish unit? Best ALLIED fighting unit in the theather. Even in 1939 when all was falling apart he had enough human instincts to land his fighter next to a german bomber that was just shot down by his wingman. It was reconaisance plane so there could be some important stuff for the intelligence. In doing so He also saved the life of the crew from the angry civils which wanted to pay them in kind for the invasion. For His command qualities he was wanted in the USA military to become the top brass. Being a patriot to the core He turned down the offer and returned to country after the war. Few years later and He is sentenced for death by communist puppets. Allegedly for spying for England and USA. BULLSHIT 10 years in prizon, never to know if it this was that day to stand in front of firing squad. Not even the tortures would made Him to sign confession to His "crimes" - this could grant live, in prison but still a life. In 1951 when things begin to thaw in communism death sentence was changed for life in prison. Finally He was set free in 1956. Just like that, one time enemy of the state the other common ordinary citizen. Did come back to the military, made General. In the 80's had crucial health problems. You would never gues what happened. The old enemies from 1939 meet. The very man that was shot down in 1939 (now some high ranking officer if not general), once an enemy, this time helped Him by rising money so He could be treated overseas. Finally, when old, with failing eyesight, abandoned and forgotten, was robbed of his war decorations by a person that was supposed to take care of him. That's how you treat genuine heroes in poland. |

Oh darn, considering Your overall level of modelling skills YOAVHOZMI, I'am flattered.
And while I am at it, I absolutely adore Your releases. The F 4 is for some time now my must build. Quite accidentally exhaust got interesting rust result. As originall paper was to thick for it I photocopied it During rolling process some of it wear off leaving white spots. When coloured I got this rust like pattern. |

Good morning
To further enhance the look of landing gear, and instead of painting I use aluminum foil on the shock absorbers. Somehow I run short on material of horizontal stabilizers. As it would be underneath and hardly visible it was left like that. Those stabilizers were glued then without a spar, one at a time. I've barely get away with that bents on both side of cockpit area fuselage. My son was inspecting fuselage, and well... um.. But I solved it with cardboard glued only to fuselage skin. There are wrinkles still, but You have to now what and were to look for to find them. |
