Yes. We can't possibly have too many images of these beautiful birds.

Thanks Leif, I'm glad you like them, they are always fun to build... I'll look through the images I took and see what else pop's out at me.

I put them together, take pictures and then, like it real life.......all the parts go on to the next diorama, or display shelf etc. I just don't have the room to keep them set up long term.

I'll post some more later today or tomorrow.

Definitely an inspiartion, now I'll have to take a shot at building my copies of these beauties...

I know you said the struts were a killer, but how about one more? Do you have the S-40 from bobscardmodels.com? Not an Africa boat, but it might look good next to these two.

Thanks Scott, it's always nice to know that work that I do inspires others to try new things.

I never knew that a model of the S-40 existed.......... I'm actually tempted, however, I try to build all my models at 1:48. A holdover from my plastic days... I think I'd need a bigger house.

If you ever do get the S-38-39 done, make sure to let us know and post some pictures....

Take care,
Swampfox

Superb

Amazing, I finally just finished building my own pair of these great planes. Yours turned out better than mine. These are my favorite planes from FG.

This is a video of a newly built S-38 doing some touch and go's.

Thanks for the nice comments and for the link. Hadn't seen that one yet, so I'll give you one in trade: YouTube - Sikorsky S-38 at Lake Lucerne

I only discovered the S-38-39 about ~10 years ago and have been learning more about them since then.

keep building,

A couple of detail shots.

As the title says, a couple of detail shots of the 'fuselage', engines, rigging & other fiddly things.

I'm switching to the click to enlarge version of these pictures for the time being.
