Messerschmitt Bf 109E-7 Trop, Halinski Kartonowy Arsenal 2/2009
Here are some pictures of my first completed paper model. I posted a Spitfire from Halinski earlier, but too many things went wrong to stay seeing the fun in it.
The model fits extremely well. With my model the nose sheeting turned out to be nearly a mm longer than the frame though and with the droptank I had some problems, but here it turned out that I misunderstood the instructions. The same for the trailing edge of the wing. For those who want to build this plane, the upper part has to overlap 1,5mm approximately the S-shaped trailing edge for a good fit of the ailerons and flaps. That went wrong I suppose because my Polish is not that good and I had to do it with the fantasicly clear pictured instructions. DSC05175.jpg The seat with alufoil straps and buckles from copperthread from an electric motor. DSC05180.jpg The completed interior. The antennamast is a piece of guitar string. DSC05308.jpg The undercarriage leg with oleopart in alu-foil. Here some pictures of the completed model. Thank you all for the positive feedback!
The credits are also very much for this forum though, because I learned a lot by reading your posts. That is a great help. The thing that is most lacking me and one can't acquire from the internet is experience. That is what shows of in the bulbs where the last one was a lot more bulbous than the sort of Alpine first. On to the next one. I am tempted to take up the Sea Gladiator challenge. I must admit that it looks as if I am quite hooked to this complicated type of modeling. |

Really? Your first completed model? You must be a very quick learner! I'd be happy if my current modeling skills equaled yours.

Thank you Curt,
Not really the first. The first you can find under under supermarine Spitfire Vb Trop (Kartonowy Arsenal 2/2008) but there went to much wrong with that one, so I didn't finish it. Halinski has tremendously precise models, so it was not that hard, but much more a lengthy process. It took just under a year, but very rewarding compared to plastic with photo etched parts and resin detailingkits. Thanks again, but I will post some close-ups to bring the praise more in perspective. EJ |
