Thank you very much for your kind words, folks!

Yes, Jeff,
the stretched sprue worked well indeed.

Jacek,
the water is Faller Seefolie, originally intended for model railways. It consists of a clear plastic sheet with the waves on top of a sheet of coloured paper. In the link you see the "caribbean blue" side of the paper but on the backside it is of an undefined dirty green-brown-grey which works out really well for north sea and baltic waters.
By the way: Any news on the Dz-3?

Alcides,
compared with 1/50 scale, rigging a plane in 1/250 is even easier under a certain aspect: The "wires" are short enough to stay straight in any case, so I can cut them to length and glue them in place without having to worry about sagging. Without having to apply tension, I only have to hit the right spot and wait until the glue has dried. (But, of course, a steady hand and good vision is still required!)
Anyway, there's still enough planes with cantilever wings left to completely avoid this subject!

Thanks, I saw this in online store, when I build church maquette, but I don't think thats looks so good. Is it good to 1/72 scale or waves are too small, when You see this in reality what do You think?

Dz-3, well fuselage is painted, wings I leave "wooden" but I must make new engine cowling...

Thumbs up Absolutely amazing

Michik, such a small scale and a smale subject, I am flabbergasted! Truly, a jewel of an effort. Thank you for the inspiration and the joy.

Again, thank you for the kind words!

Alfredo,
no problem: Get the kit and build one!

Jacek,
a quick search brought up these two military dioramas:
U-Boot Typ XXVIIB/B5 "Seehund" - 1:35 Bronco (+ Verlinden) **update 31.10.2010** and
Military Modelling
Both are in 1/35 scale and, at least for me, the water looks good. If it is convincing in 1/250 and it is convincing in 1/35 i shall expect it to be also convincing inbetween.

However, note one thing: The surface is not flat and the very top is not opaque either. If you put objects just on top this results in a not very realistic look (you can see this effect quite good on the submarine diorama). Fortunately, this is not very apparent with my plane.

Glad to hear that you are progressing with the Dz-3! I'm looking forward to it!

Michi

Thanks for reply! I think about cutout fuselage shape in "water"..but don't have any experience in water dioramas. However this is a far future
