Ahoy, ringmaster. Since no one has answered your question yet, I'll take a (perhaps uninformed) crack at it. I suspect there are several factors that influence the variation in prices:
1) complexity of the aircraft 2) complexity of the model (identical aircraft might have dramatically different construction techniques and levels of detailing) 3) publisher of the model, i.e. brand name recognition, like Halinski vs. WAK ... doesn't mean WAK publishes bad models, just means they don't have the brand recognition and reputation that Halinski has and might be willing to sell for less to attract buyers and establish a market niche 4) age of the model, or more correctly age of the design -- older hand-drawn model vs. newer computer-drafted model 5) for older models, I suspect laser reprint vs. original offset printing affects the price as well. Feel free, anyone, to add to, modify, or trash this list. BTW, I started construction of the engine cylinders and have posted some shots at the kartonbau thread. Cheers! |

The other price influence is the availability of out-of-print models.

A very unfortunate accident. You are taking it much better than I would after so much effort. At the end of the day there is not much you can do abut though. A nice adult beverage (or two) is in order I think.

Ouch. Sorry to see that one. Still, it does look like it could have been worse?
Is there any way to repair the engine and adjust the cowling? Chris |

Perhaps if you 'rebuild' the engine from scratch, instead of throwing away the first one. You could repair it and mount it on a small engine stand and have it as a display next to the aircraft like some museums do.
