I was in Michaels the other day, and they have a nice collection of metallic papers...
in the Art department. large sheets that you would have to cut down. better stuff and nicer finishes than what you see on the scrapbook papers. I haven't been through the local Art store as of late, but I'm sure they would have the same stuff. It would take a few test prints to check printability, but I think its worth it. Has anyone tried alclad on paper...and then print?

I was looking at a couple of pl*st#c modeling internet sites, and they seem to have developed an interesting method for simulating metal surfaces.
They airbrush on a liquid varnish-like material or an acrylic medium which contains metal pigments and then after it has cured they apply decals. It looks pretty fascinating and technical. Has anyone here tried to adopt this technique of aerosol metallic pigment application to paper models? |

Fully sealed paper
should behave like any other non-permable surface when painted. Problem with Alclad is that it is lacquer (cellulose?) based so it would be very tough to find a sealer that would not be 'cut' by the the thinner. Perhaps a fuel-proof dope might do the trick.
