Phew... true enough, ther have a few things come in the way of building this model, but finally I managed to resume work on it.

The cowling:
I've altered the white lining a bit and increase the contrast of the louvers. Again, I've cut out the part above the cylinders and glued strips of part 1b underneath. This time, however, I've joined the cowling's front and back half with a pair of formers.

Fuselage:
Instead of using part S5, I've added the positions of the internal framework and the wing's trailing edge outside of the fuselage top, laminated it, and then transferred the positions to the backside. No further modifications of the graphics.

I've started the fuselage construction by glueing on side to the end of the framework, then glued it to the fuselage top, followed by the second side. Finally, I fixed the fuselage bottom.

The cockpit area begun with the fire wall, followed by the cockpit interior and the cabin front. I've omitted the formers S3a of the cabin front. I've installed the seats, instrument panel and steering column though there'll be hardly a chance to catch a glance at them on the finished model. Before the wing installation, the windshield of the early low type was fixed.

Now that it was finished I attached the horizontal fins, the wing, the rudder, and the according struts to the fuselage. Thus, only the landing gear and the propellor are missing, and I'm pretty sure that those won't take me four month again!

Bye!
Michi

Michi, this little gem is awesome!!! Your build has been a pleasure to watch. I wouldn't worry about the "nerdy glasses". I'm finding as of late I need a set of cheaters to work on these little models.

Thank you very much, Jeff!

Just for the records:
I wouldn't call the glasses 'cheaters', they are tools like any other tools. After all, this is a hobby and it's meant to be fun. It is not for demonstrating someones extraordinary eyesight to the rest of the world!

Michi

I continued with the landing gear. Here, I've ommitted the 'hub caps' and shaped the outermost wheel halves directly. The main axle as well as the two auxiliar axles were cut from cardboard (the former from a laminated sheet, the latter ones from single thickness).

The propellor is basicly the one from the kit, though I didn't use both sides of the blades but painted the backside, instead.

After attaching the air screw the very last thing to do was installing the brake cables from streched sprue.

And then...

...the bird was finished, at last!

This was a very enjoyable build and I'm pretty satisfied with the result (which Jacek's excellent work takes a lot of the responsibility for!). So, here come the pictures of the finished plane. Enjoy!

A very delicate undercarriage!

The aircraft looks very pretty, even upside down.

Don

Added: You posted the final images just as I was commenting on the previous ones. A beautiful job. Congratulations.
