No worries - an infinite Fourier series of conics will do it easily ...

John, the main gear have no covers [EDIT: perhaps they are an option, since the second image link below shows the gear intransit - with doors on the rear] - not really needed. The nose gear is a different story. I've already found images that show the nose gear is forward retracting with two apparently equal width doors to cover the "hole".
Here is a great image showing these features: OM-SKY - Skyservice Cessna 210 Centurion Aircraft Photo ID: 78091 | Airplane-Pictures.net Showing gear doors in transit: http://www.flickr.com/photos/james_orear/4277064895/ Also, no doors gear in transit: http://www.airport-data.com/images/a...194/194467.jpg

I can confirm that. I emailed my friend that used to fly a 210. The nose gear had the double doors, and the main gear just went into the channels.

Thanks guys.
@rcbeach,those are two different variations. a pressurized version and an unpressurized version. I am doing the pressurized version. I have such detailed panel lines that I am tempted to have separate thing pieces of paper applied to have actual panels lines, as opposed to drawing them. Depends on how it pans out. I will be doing the pressurized one, (small windows and one door are the give away) and it does not have the "snout" that the other models have. Thanks for any info, and I gladly will accept anymore. I am working out the cowling details now. I should have an update tomorrow. Then back to the USS Simon Lake for a while. |

I may be doing more updates at ZEALOT because I am there a lot, and this double posting is getting confusing!
The transition from the nose piece to the cowl is not smooth. Since paper does not lend itself well to these type of radii, I could put one in using many pieces, but it would not look good. I may try just to see. Most people want something to print and build and don't want to do any filling and sanding, so the result is what you see here. It's not bad, it's just not good. Any input would be helpful. Everything unfolds and should fit relatively well. |
