I kept returning to that beautiful cockpit, but now that you've started the wings, it's the rivets, and the gear wells which caught my attention. It really is very pretty. And the difference in punched, as opposed to non-punched, rivets is very, very apparent! - L.

Thanks, I was not sure you saw that..You know, Dustin, with the work I see you doing I think you'll enjoy building the engine. I photoshopped mine to see the cylinder lines, just weren't visable on the kit, you may notice the difference when you get there. Rick's valley guide for the cylinder heads is very helpful. On the other parts I just left little glue tabs for ease, so didn't need any other jigs.

Thanks guys!!

Here are just a few shots of the cockpit finally attached to the wings. The top of the wing skin did not want to completely line up with the trailing edge on the both sides. I think this is mostly my fault for not having pulled the skins tight enough. A little grey paint and it should cover up nicely. I feel like a got a little sloppy and created some unwanted ripples in the wings and in the fuselage.....oh well.

Well I'm done with the zero. The wings are causing WAY to many fit problems and I'm sick of trying to unglue parts with an x-acto knife. The cockpit can be saved, but I think the wings are a lost cause.... It's just not fun anymore. The next time I make a big overseas order I'll have to put in for another Zero kit and hopefully someday I'll come back to this project.
