Hello Bob,
thank you for your outstanding work; you requested the auditorium for an idea ... that's honorable. I hate me for this, but take a look at the French flying boats at the end of the 30ties ... a wide range with interesting flying machines?! http://www.google.de/imgres?imgurl=h...3Dimvns&itbs=1 http://www.google.de/imgres?imgurl=h...3Dimvns&itbs=1 That's my 2 cent... With lovely greetings the Wilfried PS: I like the English flying boats well - nevertheless the German ones ... |

Thanks all of you. At present I have stopped designing paper models, and have just finished building HobbyKing's RC foam 1:20 Canadair CL-415 flying boat, my first love (and also my first paper model). Photo attached, with the Canadoian decals replaced by the French Securite Civile decals, and in fact No. 32, still flown by the gallant French pilots fighting and water-bombingbush fires. I am terrified of its maiden flight, as I have never done this before, and I can already see it crashing after 30 seconds! Must practice on a PC simulator. Be back on paper models possiobly some time end of the year.
Greetings Bob |

What about one of the Curtiss flying boats for the USN?

Bob, if you can find someplace with really tall grass, it can really save a plane from a hard fall. Even without wheels, it should be able to land on grass pretty good. I would hand launch it with an experienced person at the controls. Beautiful looking R/C plane. |

Hello Bob!
Many thanks for your S-55, I've Just finished one! Actually your design is a mesh up between the old type S-55 twin hulls and the Italo Balbo S-55X plane but I preferred to build It out of a "box"! There was also a Fasces Insignia wrongly printed on the right wing... the fasces axes should be painted ever to the wingtip side! No problem, the correction was simple!
