Ojimak's MiG-21MF in 1:200

Adding this here because I won't start a new thread for only one pic.

This is Ojimak's newly released MiG-21U printed at 30%. The radar cone is from my FT-7/MiG-21U.

This angle doesn't show the obvious mistakes I made but I think I'll build another one where I'll follow the instructions more closely.

Well done, Carlos, at this scale. Are you also doing the landing gears?

That's what I wanted to do but I'll do it on a (hopefully) better assembled copy. I should have followed the instructions. :(

Carlos,

It looks great, I don't know how to do landing gear at 1/200?

Thanks.

I'll actually re-use the one I made for my FT-7/Mig-21U twin seater (preferably the MiG-21UM version which is not the one I printed).

edit: one last pic, 5 MiG-21 from 5 different designers (John Glessner for FG, Ojimak, me, Paragon and Rawen/Paran).

Ceci n'est pas un MiG-21F-13.

Really, it isn't.

It's more like a what-if single-seat MiG-21U (early izdeliye 66-400 version). For this to be a MiG-21F-13, I'd need to redraw a lot of panel lines on the fuselage and add a gun (or two for the earlier MiG-21F... or the J-7 I but that one also moved the brake chute to the base of the fin, thus adding a fairing there).

Basically it's a test article built to see if the new parts (canopy+ spine) are OK.

I you happen to have Ojimak's MiG-21 printed at 30% and need a landing gear, here is one.

MiG-21UM, 1/200-ojimak-mig-21mf-019.jpgMiG-21UM, 1/200-ojimak-mig-21mf-020.jpgMiG-21UM, 1/200-ojimak-mig-21mf-021.jpgMiG-21UM, 1/200-ojimak-mig-21mf-022.jpg

(labeled as MiG-21 Bis because I remade the struts and probe from a MiG-21 Bis 3-view, the doors are from my MiG-21UM as is the nose cone)

(Finally completed after 2 years!)

edit: 2 more pics
