21 stored MiG-21F-13 (or S-106) were transfered to Slovakia as well as 3 stored PF. The 11 PFM allocated to Slovakia had been retired a few years before the partition (that occured on 1.1.1993).

The Slovak Air Force received 8 MiG-21R, 13 MiG-21M (upgraded to MA), 36 MiG-21MF, 3 MiG-21U (of the Izdeliye 66-600 variant with the big vertical stabilisator), 2 US and 11 UM.

Regarding tnat pic, the 4 at the top (7702, 7703, 7710, 7712) are MF as is 4312 at the bottom. The second one in that line (2615) is a MiG-21MA as is the next one (120x). The 2 two-seaters at the top (3051 & 5101) are MiG-21UM. The last 3 before them are 2 MF (7704 and 4313) and one R (1920).

The M was the export version of the S used by the soviet air force but with an older radar and a built-in cannon. The MA was an M re-engined with the R13-300 turbojet. If the RP-21MA radar was replaced with the RP-22 from the S and the MF, they were then redesignated as MiG-21MF, the main difference with a true MF being the slightly different shape of the airbrakes.
Thanks for the info Carlos. You have so much info on MiG 21 that astonishes me After I collect all the prototypes, variants and derivatives, I am going for this diorama

All the info is from the MiG-21 bible by Yefim Gordon, Keith Dexter and Dimitri Komissarov. The book has lists of (known) serials in the operators section.

(No I didn't pay that price when I bought it new a few years ago, same for the MiG-29 book)

I think Ojimak's is a nice model and builds really well. The vertical stabilisator might be a bit oversized but it's not flagrant. I really like it. Plus it's a flying model (at the original size).

-edit- About the pic : there's a third UM (0368) in the middle of that big line and just under it an MF coded 4311. I can see at least 6 more MFs with codes starting with 43 or 44 and 3 more MAs with codes starting with 11 or 12. The camouflaged fuselage with a faded white/blue/red lightning bolt is probably 8208 (MF). Just below that one there's a fuselage with a 3-tone grey/black camo that could be 7713 (MF) provided it was the only one painted in that scheme.

Also, in the middle of them, is a UM, 0365?

The book by Yefim Gordon is truly magnificent. I guess the price tag is viable for the info about the LEGENDARY JET FIGHTER. Thank you Carlos and Ray for the pointers identifying the serials and versions. I have imagined to replicate this diorama since a long time. Hope to get there soon. I would setup the diorama and would love to share here.

Carlos, can you help me to improve my SMT version? I have redesigned it and need some pointers before I start building it.

Yefim Gordon only lists one serial starting with 03 so I think it's 0368.

I've been zooming on this wallpaper.

Is it still the same version you sent me or did you make further changes?

I have made adjustments and have sent you the template. Ignore the PF model there coz its not complete.

BTW, here is another angle view of the graveyard.

Thanks. Got them.

You may want to get the blank PF/PFS/PFM edits of Rawen & Paran's MiG-21. The pdf file has a pair of R-60 (AA-8 Aphid) for the Bis and a GP-9 cannon pod for the PF/FL/PFS/PFM/S.

Edit:
Or get this : all the weapons I made for the MiG-21 in 1:200. The APU-60-2 + 2 R-60 are beta material and may get entirely remade.
Attached Files
File Type: pdf cafe-weapons_set_for_MiG-21-1_200.pdf (104.7 KB, 58 views)
