Dear Papermate:
The build looks very nice, but I am curious on how you solved the dilemma.
I think you used Rata's method.
Is this correct?
Looking forward for the final model.

@wireanpaper, thanks for showing an interest in this regard. I have referred to your and Rata's ideas and then developed a third idea as shown in the attached picture. Rata's idea is the same as mine but I just snapped the strut with a pair of scissors without shortening it by 1 or 2 mm and re-attached it again after inserting the engine fairing (ah, the right word for it!). As regards yours, it seems logical to split the engine fairing into forward and aft parts, cut the slots in green as appropriate and re-join them afterwards. I like the idea but don't want to do two cones as more you do, more chance of messing up will be.

Thus, I used the third method that's good enough for me and solved the problem. Almost forgot to say that I built the engine with the slots cut first and then cut the slits on the engine fairing as mentioned above and shown in the picture attached.

No.6 - Sikorsky S-40 is now finished with detailed rigging, diagram supplied by Pericles, thanks to him, and spinning props, all four of them. Also, it's a very challenging model for the experienced builder and credit should go to Bob for creating this wonderful model free. Hope you'll enjoy the views.
