Tim,

Yes, I have redrawn all instruments, I have added wires and adapted the rear to correspond to the swiss version (whose name was D-3801). I'll post others pictures later.

Here are two pictures of the only D-3801 still in flight conditions.

Hello Dayn,

what a fine model you are building, looks so good in that scale! I am glad also to learn more about the aircraft itself, which I knew next to nothing about.

Could I just say that your fine build really deserves bigger photos. You know, you can publish quite big photos without going over the 250kb limit. Do you have Photoshop, or any other simpler program which allows you to change jpg compression/filesize? It seems your original photos are quite good, so the quality will not be a problem.

I have 1000 px width as a standard. Then I have to reduce filesize to about 75 percent, which is not a problem. I can do that either in Photoshop, or in my very simple Mac Preview programme. Either way works, but Photoshop or similar, more advanced, programme will allow you to change overall lightness and color balance, which is very good.

Just a suggestion, and a wish - I'd really like to see MORE , as in more detail and larger photos, of your build.

Kind regards, Leif

PS. For photos from Airliners.net the best way is to publish a link, which will let us see a large photo, and keep the copyright holders happy ...

The outer temperatures have been very cold this week-end (-18°C). So I prefered working on my airplane rather than to go skiing.

Very nice. Now we are starting to see some deails!

Here at Gothenburg we hit the lowest temperature so far this winter, but not like yours, not quite -15°C. Now it's looking to be a bit warmer.

That is a highly-detailed and very realistic-looking cockpit.

Morane Saulnier 406 / Halinski 2/2006 / 1:33

Hi,
Some new pictures showing the lateral bulkhead in place and the rear skin glued on the framework.
I print the recolored shapes on matt inkjet photo paper. The result is visually good but the quality of collage is catastrophic. I don't have the courage to restart from the beginning so i'll carry on with such conditions.
Best Regards
Dayn

Dayn, that is so pretty, so well made. My only wish is for still larger photos!

And, suddenly a question arises - are you by any chance laser-cutting those frames?

I only ask, since that if so your build would be the second example of home-made laser-cut frames. See also Bruce Clemens scratch-built Fokker DVIII.

Or have I misunderstood your remark about building in 1/16 scale, and those are in fact ready-made 1/33 frame parts?

Leif

Leif,
I'm sorry; I haven't had time to answer to your message more quickly.
Effectively, I build this kit in 1:33 scale but I make tests in 1:16 scale to get good connections for all pieces I have to recolor or to completly draw (radiator, tail wheel).
During the last week only little progress have been made but I still post some new pictures.
