Custom Focke-Wulf Ta-183 Huckebein

Once I finished my first custom ME-109, and had started the second, I decided to try a Huckebein re-paint. Once I finish the second ME-109, I'm gonna try and color the Ta-183 in Nachtjager AKA Nightfighter camouflage. I got the idea from Mozajka, who designed the Junkers EF-128 a while back. After seeing his version of the Nachtjager camo, I knew I HAD to give it a try on the Huckebein. Pictures should be up either tonight or tomorrow. We'll see how it goes.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Ta. 183 Huckebein in Nachtjaeger livery evolve.
I've always like the Huckebein, and Nachtjaeger livery certainly suits the aircraft.

In fact, being honest, I'd greatly enjoy having one to build in that livery.

The fact that the Ta. 183 came so close to flight testing is of course one reason I have always had an interest in the aircraft, much as is the case with the Me. P1101, aka Bell X5; which of course did end up flying. I also very much like the projected, but far less-known Vee-tail variants of both the Ta 183 and Me. P1101. Said Vee-tail was very much like that projected for the He.162, and tested on the He.280 V7 and V8, and He.162C/D Prototype (which was either He.162 V12 or V18 or V23, from memory).

I shall be watching with much interest.

I like the colouring Jarrod my friend.
It reminds me very much of a colour illustration I have of a Ju.88 G6-c, and a similar Ju.188 G.

Your Ta.183 is showing its' colours very nicely indeed.

Kind and Respectful Regards Jarrod my friend, Uyraell.

Just finished up the fuselage. Now all I gotta do is color the wings and attach them and I'm done. Any ideas for the next one guys?

Exiting color scheme. I have looked at your other constructions and I can see that you clearly enjoy this craft.

Cheers!

I don't know what kits you have on hand, Jarrod, but I'm guessing there must be a few to choose from.
Suggestion:
Heinkel He.100, just to go alongside the Bf.109's.

or

Bf.109 with BMW 801Dg radial engine, and Vee-tail, as test flown in mid 1943.
It nearly killed its' pilot, but would be a most unusual Bf.109.
I don't have any pictures, but it is a reasonably easy engine-swap kit-bash.
Simply put the engine from an FW.190 A3 on the Bf.109 fuselage, with the firewall at the base of the windscreen. The original empennage can be left on the fuselage if you don't like Vee-tails and the complications they represent in building.
There isn't much more to it than that.

Kind and Respectful Regards Jarrod my friend, Uyraell.

Finished Product

Just finished the wings. I think it looks really cool. And I've decided to do an american counter-part for the ME-109's, the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk. Anyway, here it is.

Your Ta.183 has emerged very nicely.
The colour is not only unusual, but very good. I like it a lot.

Well done on another fine model, Jarrod my friend.

Kind and Respectful Regards Jarrod my friend, Uyraell.
