FG J3 Piper Cub
Hi,
This is going to be a gift to a very close friend of mine who lives in Fairbanks AK. the engine is a Continental A-40, 4 cylinder air-cooled 115.05 Cubic Inch. (I couldn't figure out what that would be in the metric system.) I'll add pictures latter .

Here it is so far. I'm hoping to have it finished by next week. I regret not having pictures of the rest of the build.
For the rivets on the floats I used Aleen's tacky glue . it got me converted!

That doesn't look like the standard engine from FG. Did you get it from another model?

I designed the engine myself and thank you Ju52man It sure makes the model look so much better when painting it. also I'm going to use Leif Ohlsson's prop but I'm still trying to decide if I want it in two shades or if it would look better in just one.

Thank you Willygoat and Spgifford for your complements. Fiddlers Green sure do make some great models for a great price. The floats look allot better when adding a couple coats of metallic paint to them.

Some more progress with the engine. I'm wanting to add valve springs which would go from underneath the cylinder heads to the crankcase. Do any of you think that using thread to make them might work. (I added a couple pictures to show where the valves springs are.)

Well here is the finished product. I got the engine into the nose it was a little difficult but not as bad as the real deal. I'll get more pics on soon.
