Have built up the cockpit:

The instructions are clear and there are not too many parts.

I did make some additions. The first was to replicate the rear of the machine guns. Second was to replace the control stick, with something a bit thinner.

Last of all was to replicate the seat-belt. I used brown paper and fuse wire.

Great looking cockpit. These Maly kits really come alive in capable hands. Looking forward to watching your progress.

.. it's like Don said - you make the most of this kit; a little work at the belts make the whole thing alive ...

With lovely greetings
the Wilfried

Nice job on the cockpit.

When I was building the Inwald "Judy" I hunted for seatbelts and all I could find was the same as Michael, lap belts and some with one shoulder strap. I did the shoulder strap version on that one.

Saludos

Progress so far:

Front section built up and glued to cockpit section. Was a bit worried about the machine gun housing but it seems to have come out okay.

Have built up the rear fuselage, and also glued on the tail fin. The fin needed a fair bit of shaping before fitting in-place. The there is a bit of a gap where the top surface of the horizontal stabiliser joins the fuselage. But this should be covered up by a fillet.

Trying not to force anything together to avoid bruising or denting the card.

Started to build up the engine and cowling. Seems a fairly simple engine build, just got the push rod tubes to add. Although I think most of it won't be seen, once the spinner is in place.

Ooooh! Pretty!

Thanks for showing the instruction sheet. The image of the fuselage in sections is informative and aesthetically appealing. All this reminds me of the artwork that used to appear in Air Progress in the 1950s: cutaways, Douglas Rolfe pen and ink drawings, half-tone illustrations. Lovely stuff, as is your model.

so, I'm looking at your build photos and wondering what you were originally
grousing about. You are doing an outstanding job! The fuselage looks to be bereft of deformations or misalignments. The gun fairings look especially well executed! Looking forward to the grand finale!
