Extremely neat solutions making an exceptionally fine model, one to be proud of.

The inventiveness you've shown augurs well for a more than successful outcome.

Kind and Respectful Regards Mike my friend, Uyraell.

That interior looks AMAIZING Mike! Although it will be harder to see, it will be seen through doors and windows and therefore really worth the extra effort for anyone wanting a well detailed model. Just a quick FYI: if you are wanting to design this model to be of it's original config (radio, radar, nav stations) than that is great... A lot of work, but great. However, if you want to design the interior to match the plane in it's current state you can pretty much be done with the interior. We do not have anything inside and most likely never will. Just something to think about.

Also, I have a few things to get to you, I don't know how helpful it will be but I will get it to you none the less. I would have gotten it to you sooner, but my hard drive co
pletely crashed. I have to start all over, I lost everything.

Thanks, I'm still experimenting with some ideas, but it sure slows things down

Thanks will, I am going to do a blow by blow on the inner and outer skin thing soon, right now I'm caught in the engine , spiraling down into a black hole I'm afraid...

Sorry to hear that, been down the hard drive crash road myself. No fun, but it does help in reorginzation.

Wow, very interesting thread!

Great photos of the model (Ok-full size model this rendering is about) as well as the 3d-design screen shots.

The fuselage build is very thought inspiring! Interesting way to get the shape right!

Did you use the expanding or most likely the non-expanding foam when you went that route?

Major Charles mentioned the egg crate design as a possible fix for my Saturn V issues. Don't know if it would work, probably add too much weight, but I'm impressed by how it works! Thanks for sharing it.

Going to keep checking this thread as it develops...

Mike

Thanks for dropping into this thread. I used non expanding foam. I think expansive foam would tear it apart.

I did a search and saw the Saturn V. It might work to reinforce some critical areas. Need more input, as I am not familiar with the whole stomp rocket tech aspects. But I am a big fan of the Saturn V, been building a massive model for some time now. I have avoided the launching ideas as this would cause the grandsons to go nuts. Will invest time in stomp this summer when I have time to get their undivided attention. Things that go bang, and move usually causes great interest on their part.

Main Wing Spars

Here are the designs for the wing structure and main spars, I am designing a fixture to make sure that the wings are in the correct positions when the glue dries.

Here is a closer look at the Main Wing frame structure
