Lockheed PV 2 Harpoon "Hot Stuff"

Well I got a message from a fellow who wanted this plane. So I sat down on Sunday and put together a basic shape and added some minor details to see if it would look Okay. So how about it? To build or not to build.

Finish it, but don't go crazy with the details. Go for either 1/72 or 1/60 scale (latter compares to FG model scale).

I'd say finish her up, with some medium detail similar to Nobi's, Kampfflieger's or Marek's type models.

Definitely finish this. Preferably in 1/33 scale, it can always be scaled down for the Micronauts. And yes, go crazy for the details, they can always be left off for a simpler build.
You did this in a day? Excellent work.

Wow Mike, thanks so much for doing this! It is really looking great! For those of you who don't know, I have asked Mike to design this model because I am a member of the American Military Heritage Foundation; the not for profit orginazation that takes care of this plane. I had been looking for a good designer for sometime to make a model of this plane for us to use to raise money for the Harpoon at airshows and such. I would say it looks like the time it took to find the right designer was well worth it...Wouldn't you?!

Here are a few pics that I have taken of the plane to share with you all.
1. me in the cockpit (pretty self explanitory)
2. this is my favorite pic. I took this from the astrodome on the way home from an airshow in Wis. last year
3. I believe this pic was taken at that same airshow (although it may have been one in Mich. I cant remember)
4.a nice pic of our nose art
5. me on the way home from wis.

Yes. Spencermitchellmusic sent me a very nice PM which I read late Saturdat night. Looked up the plane did some reference work. Dreamed about it. Believe it or not I work out a lot of problems while I sleep. Then sat down and did the basic shape in about three hours. But a lot of the hard stuff is not done. Designed in Sketchup 8 Pro.
