Landing gear done:

Built the legs in two halfs. Upper half was attached to the aircraft

The lower half was built up as a unit together with the wheel and mudguard. Made a complete balls up of the forks (twice) Never mind got it right the third time. Formed the mud-guards by using the tyres as a former and leaving to dry.

Canopy next

Great build. Your landing gear looks ready for retraction sequence!

I am tempted to build my Gloster next. I want to see your canopy ( windshild specifically )made and fitted. If you vacuform it, I may ask you for a copy ( I will pay ).

Thanks

Isaac

Canopy time!

I was sorting through some bins outside McDonald's looking for something to eat when I found this:

This will come in handy, into my shopping trolley it went and off home.

Made numerous copies of the canopy frame. Cut these out and glued to the plastic. Left them to dry overnight and cut them out.

This is going well. I've had problems with canopies before. So a little heat to bend the frame to fit would not go amiss.

That went well! - back to the drawing board

Tim

Fine work on the undercarriage followed by the canopy comic turn.

Remarkable variations in coloring among the different images.

The windshield had a 3 dimentional blown shape. Not sure McDonalds will do the job.

Take 2 next?

Good luck

Tim,

Thank you for taking us through the construction of a well made model.

I particularly liked your creative use of McDonald's landfill, truly a case of "necessity is the mother of invention", what did you use to heat the plastic?

I am certainly looking forward to the solution.

Michael
