Checking for availability

Hi all,

I am wanting to build some WW2 aircraft.

And I would like to know if the following pilots' aircraft were ever created.

John Alison, a P-40
Tex Hill a P-51 B or C
Chuck Older, a P-51D

I am inspired to build them after I did this puzzle, Forged in China Skies

Roy Grinnell painted the original and got all 3 pilots to sign their aircraft
Forged in China Skies by Roy Grinnell

On the off chance someone might know, are any of the A-10s available, represent the 23rd TFW?

Thanks in advance

Rick

One of my favorite retailers

Jigsaw Puzzles, Puzzle Accessories and more...

This is a Sunsout puzzle, but I would also recommend checking out Eurographics, I have two of them, the military helicopter one, and the Development of the Aircraft Carrier

Rick,

Thanks for the link, lots of interesting subjects, found a couple besides the China Skies one.

Will have to save to buy them as the shipping to Alaska is thru the roof, too bad they don't use USPS priority flat rate...

Maly did two of the 23rd A-10s, both the Euro 1 and the Gray schemes. Aaron did a
23rd A-10 as well.

I have to retract on one version of the Maly kit. I just checked mine, and the 1994 version is an AFRES "Warthog" nose art, not the 23rd Sharkmouth.

In order to accurately portray that particular A-10. would require a recolor, and a change in tail codes,
as the EL in the picture was while they were stationed at England AFB, LA, while both of the current
Sharkmouth A-10's carry the FT tail code, from my days at Pope AFB, NC with them.

I checked with ecardmodels.com and there is one P-40 in Flying Tigers colors, by Paper Aircraft Werks,

I have not had much luck with the Mustangs.

If anyone knows more, let me know

There are only 4 digital P-51D Mustang kits (plus livery variants) I know of - Fiddlers Green's, Lad & Dad's on Ecardmodels, Model Art's (they also have a P-40), and the free Old Crow model I built a few years ago. I'm sure any of the first three on the list would be easy to get approval for and find a similar paint job to re-paint as Chuck Older's Yokohama Yardbird. Lad & Dad's is already the right colors, just needs some detail work. I might ask for repaint approval and do the repaint myself if you think that fits the bill Rick....

Got the approval for a LND repaint. I'll get started on it sometime soon.
