@ Wad Cutter - Thank you for the kind words! I've seen that you are in the right path, with your Cub and Duck. Keep on building!
@ Don (R/P/S), You are totally right about the Halinski kits as they are received on the mail... they look so pristine it takes courage to cut them off. But I can say... you can always buy 2 :P Seriously, with your level, I'm sure you will have a great model. @ Romanmodels... thank you for the words! @ Firewing... Gracias amigo!! And I apologize for keeping this thread in the shadows... but I was engaged with the P-51 Mustang Creamer's Dream. But here's more... I continue with the under-cowling. Preparing the scoop. I liked a lot the weathering on this kit. As you can see, I added some of my crop, because I did a mistake, so I just added a few strokes with light grey to the piece. Bummer! I hope judges bypass this one |

Thanks Jim!! Yes, Marcin Dworzecki & Marcin Grygiel added some very good details to the model.
More on the 109 --> Adding the machine guns. Now I didn't expect this parts for the engine cover and I had to study the instructional diagrams a little more deeply. They looked like if I had to put a part on top of other, and that didn't was correct. But I think at the end they came up OK. And then... something really bad happened... What's up with that huge gap????!!! I figure that since I used cardboard different than cereal boxes cardboard, I was making a mistake. But after measuring and measuring back again, I realized that it was maybe that I put too much openness on the formers. Oh well, eventually it was covered by the undercarriage frame. So I continued... As you can see, it seems also that the cowling and the spinner base don't match. That was a problem for me on managing the design of the "E" model. I had to worked it a little more. You will see it on the final pictures. |

Hiya,
I built few planes from Halinski and never had any trouble. Thing is, I think, after looking at your pics, you have used too thick card (especially on the nose part). Remember you have to fit carcass to the skin, not the other way round. If it doesn't fit - apply super glue on the edges and sand everything down to fit (time consuming process but its worth the effort!) . Hal's models are extremely well designed even to card thickness so any 0.xx mm makes huge difference... One more tip - its always better to use thinner card couple times than one thick layer at once:] Good luck with this one, I will be watching as I wanted to buy this one as well:D Cheers |

Thanks for the words, Don!!!
Yeah, Hetzer, I think my fault was in not sanding more the formers... but I worked on it more and all came OK. Here's more for the T-2. Support parts for the horizontal control surfaces. Now the wing ribs... Did you think the nose and cowling have much formers? See this!! Then the wing skins... I loved the way these are designed. Being a T model, they are somewhat different than the E model... larger. And wing roots fit perfectly. |
