Geli Classic Model No. 8 "Messerschmitt Bf 109 F"

Well, one is done (MIG 15), the next one will be the Bf 109 version of Geli. An old fashioned model, simple but again Geli clever. Enjoy !

First of all a closer look on the kit itself. Not many parts and something for a rainy weekend.

The typical Geli start - the central fuselage segment, built the classic way. Good forming and preperation of parts before using glue is mandatory.

The fuselage segments are easy to build but the assembling of the segments is a litlle bit tricky, because of the somehow complicated shape of the front section of the Bf 109 fuselage. It needs some time to manage the assembling the way it should be for a good result. I often used wooden sticks to shape the single parts during the assembling process.

Third step of building the Geli Bf 109 F is to complete the fuselage and the tail section. Nothing significant to report, just smooth and relaxed assembling.

The wings are as easy to build as the tail section. Just take some time to check the proper fit of the wing parts to the fuselage section before using glue.

I am glad to see you building another Geli classic, Joerg, now that the MiG-15 is completed.

Sweet! Nice straight forward build. I am unfamiliar with the kit, but it looks as though it relys on a good amount of preforming and shaping, giving the model builder a more intimate time with the proses. Looks good.

A relative of mine flew a Factory Special Bf 109 F2.
I'm pleased to see a Geli kit of the F series being built.

Seeing these Geli builds teaches those of us who have yet to attempt such a build how it might best be achieved. Thank you, Joerg, for sharing the build with us.

Kind and Respectful Regards, Uyraell.
