WOW! I'm buying that book. My grandfather was a gunner on a Lancaster. It still erks him to this day that the government provided parachutes for the pilots... and only... the pilots. This book will be a treasure for him.

They did give him a parachute.
But the pilots sat on theirs already clipped on to their harness. Gunners had to take theirs from a rack outside the turret and clip them on.

I have that book.

It is a good alround book with it's history section and information about the Battle of Britain flight in addition to all the technical bits.
