I'm not sure that I am aware of any B-25's that were painted up in German markings...

i agree. the b-25 was a mid sized bomber that made its maiden flight on augest 1940 and was in service by the time of pearl harbor. i think it was a brittish plane and was given to the americans or it was a american plane all together freddy

I found a B24 and a B26 but no luck with a B25,I thought maybe KG200 might of used one but I haven't found any sign of captured B25's yet,several B17s though.

Yeah, same here....I've never seen or read about any B-25 being captured by the Germans during WWII.
But if one would have ever been captured, it may have appeared painted similar to one of these captured aircraft. Guerra abierta: Aviones capturados: Zirkus Rosarius |

Thokamous, it may be easier (as a "What-If?") to have a B25 captured from the Russians and repainted in Zirkus Rosarius markings.
That said, it is more likely that KG 200 flew any B25's captured, in which case such an aircraft would appear in three different ways at three different times. It would be marked in duplicate Allied markings, either Soviet, British, or American wouldn't matter, as KG 200 aircraft were frequently repainted for specific missions, the Pe 2's being the most prevalent example of the practise. It might on rare occasions be marked in standard (NOT Zirkus Rosarius) Luftwaffe markings. It might also be completely unmarked, that is, markings so small only a person standing next to the aircraft could discern them. KG 200 employed all those marking schemes at various times, and KG 200 used Beute Flugzeugen/Captured Aircraft regularly, hence the post-war secrecy regarding the unit and its' operations. The first real information became available in 1979 or so, P.W. Stahl wrote the first nonfiction documentary history of KG 200 to see public release. All of this is a mighty long way of explaining that a B25 in German markings might well be wearing standard Luftwaffe markings for an aircraft the same size but might not ever wear SonderKommando Rosarius markings, being in fact far more likely to be operated and wear markings by KG 200, in which case images most likely will not exist. Kind and Respectful Regards Thokamous my friend, Uyraell.

The wiki site doesn't report a P-51 being flown either, although a Tuskegee airman reported seeing and chasing one in German Markings........... so a B-25 could have been used by the Germans, being like Uyraell said they were used by just about all of the allies; and surely some had to be captured in repairable condition.
Also the Mitchell is is definitely US Made. North American Aviation. john |
