My stepson describes his father as "so Left Wing, he fell off the wing." I gotta tell him that green hair thing--'tho I'm betting he's never looked long enough at an airplane to understand the image. Kid's a damn guitar player. <sigh>

I was gonna point out that Fiddlers Green has an Avenger that shouldnt be all that hard to repaint, especially as FG gives you a black and white version with all their models. But if Aaron's already on the case, then there is no need.

I haven't started it yet, it's still in the information gathering stage. The only reason I even considered doing one was because FG's version is the older hand drawn style, unless it's been updated already.

The plane pictured is not the one I was looking for. The one in the Bush museum is different. I contacted a friend of a friend and asked about the colors and markings from the president. I was told that the one hanging in the musuem is the wrong model and painted wrong. The blue at the front of the cowl should reach all the way around, not be white at the bottom around the lower oil cooler. The nice thing about living in Houston is that the presidents' office is just down the road. The bad thing is that not just anyone can come in and ask questions.
