Heinkel HE-178 from FG

I picked this baby up from the Magic Key giveaway a while back. For my next build, I wanted to do a plane that was historic, but still fit in with my collection. So, I chose the HE-178. Not only was it an engineering leap forward in the aviation industry, it was the first jet to ever fly! I'd have to say the most unique part of the plane would be it's square exhaust system. I did the "Pure Fantasy" version of the model, just because it fits in better with my collection. Plus, it give the plane a fighter looking type of role. Anyway, here it is.

Jarrod,

P.S. Please excuse the white areas showing on the wings. They aren't exactly the easiest parts to assemble.

Very nice job. I hope to build this one myself someday.

That is one model I wish to heaven I'd been around to pick up!
It would be so very easy to complete it as itself, and complete a second copy as the He.176, and airframe sufficiently similar but powered by a rocket engine, as was the slightly later DFS.194 which evolved into the Me.163A.

To see the He.178 completed is an interesting thing, being that it is not often seen as a model, and the real one no-longer exists, nor has since 1944.
The model shown here is neat, minors imperfections notwithstanding.

Kind and Respectful Regards Jarrod my friend, Uyraell.
