F9F-5 "The Blue Tailed Fly"

Just got this finished up recently, it is a beta build of the John Bowden F9F-5 repaint "The Blue Tailed Fly".
I will not go into the specifics of the history or aircraft, as they are discussed in his original thread
The Blue Tailed Fly .

I built it stock, at full scale of 1/48. I had some trouble in a couple of sections, but this was due to
my inadequate build skill in using larger pieces. It was a quick, pleasurable build, always
good to do something other than my usual small scale.

Now, the evidence of the hatchet job I did.

As the aircraft needed a stand, I did a quick photoshop job on the original Ken West
stand that was included with his F9F-8 kit.

This is an excellent build, Flyboy!

It turned out well in spite of the difficulty you must have had in dealing with the giant parts of a 1/48 kit.

I hope to build this one, too, some day, and will be inspired by your build.

Beautiful model! The stand really sets it off well. I think it's great.

Very well done Ray. Did you use the wing spar that John came up with for this model?

Thank you for overlooking my errors, and still being complimentary.

@Curt, yes, I did use it. But it is to long unless you cut slots in
the tip tanks.

Hey.... Hey... Hey.... It looks pretty good!!!

Almost got my files back............. yea!

Hey somebody once told me its better to have something too long than to try and stretch it to fit

And I too like your stand pictures better, mind if I steal it?

And Curt.... I have changed the writing.
