P-51 Mustang Creamers Dream / DCC / 1:33
Ok, I know I haven't been around the forums lately like I used to - and as much as I like to - but there is this thing called "work"...
Ah, if they payed me for building models... Anyway, here's my report on building this P-51 Mustang D model from Dave Winfield. Another Red Tail Mustang... Creamer's Dream. Available here: 1/33 North American P-51D Mustang - Creamers Dream Paper Model - ECardmodels.com Shop - It's almost done, so I will be posting the bunch of pictures of my building process in just a few posts. Ok, to it. Paper: Cardstock ~220 gr Printing - Laser Formers: 1 mm bristol Starting with the control panel. To give a little 3D effect, I used my disc punchers to tap on each clock, giving thus a little depth effect. Then the fuselage. Very straight forward. I went ahead with the control surfaces. And as usual in me, I separated the movable areas apart. The idea is not to make them movable, just "de-attached". Now, I know Dave's instructions on this model says that we can build the whole fuselage, and then getting the pilot's seat and radio set from underneath. But I opt not to. I will do Dave's suggestions in the Next D model Mustang (I guess I will go for the Old Crow and for the Duchess Arleene - another with a pretty girl on it, yeah!). Note that I'm using Tamiya tape to hold the parts together while glue dries. |

oh I love when Gerardo builds these kits!!
The semi gloss paper and high quality print always make for a good looking model. Not to mention the fine build and modfications he makes! The side fuselage looks amazing...I love the artwork!

Super awesome Gerardo - loving the office.
You're really moving along with this one! Say, what's your printer + paper configuration? I know you listed 220 grsm cardstock, but the brand/type would be really great to know. And how's the bristol board compared to say, cereal cardboard or generic cardboard? |
