UH-1B flymodel

here's one intended to be a gift for my father. I will be redoing the insignia to match the one he flew with the 129th.
you might notice the tear in the cover. it's actually a hole that goes through the book. happened during shipping. Amazingly it only damaged 2 parts, rotor blade and a side door. being identical parts i was able to copy the other sides. lucky me. after looking over this one i'm kinda worried it's above my skill set. we'll see if i end up simplifying anything

I always use Evergreen plastic stock for parts such as these. Try some 1mm and 0.5mm stuff. It's easy to cut, use polystyrene cement for glueing and can be coloured easily.
All the best and happy modelling

The florist wire is plastic coated and CA glue works great on it...i would use thick CA and line it all up and shoot it with kicker....Rich

here's the frame build up. nothing too noteworthy here except a few design issues. the 2 vertical formers behind the cabin have the slot cutouts drawn wrong.the slots go from the outside in. easy fix since i already cut em, I simply cut the slots the whole way through and mounted the halves seperately just an inconvenience.

Hello sqwarsh,

the fly model frames are constructed for eternity! Stable and heavy, but the hull parts are thin-skinned http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/i...lies/smile.gif and therefore easily damageable.

But you will overcome this kind of obstacle and I'm sitting in the first row and learning the how-to from you.

The frame is build of own cut cardstock. It looks very good so far. Can't wait see more.

Greetings
Gerald

Great start! I'm still too intimidated to start any complicated aircraft builds... maybe one day... sigh.

Anyhoo... your work has always been great to follow... subscribed to this one!

Cheers!
