GREAT NEWS for all those people who followed this thread. Designer Cor van Haasteren has picked up where he left off almost two years ago, and now the model is ready to print!
Cor and I (publisher of th Paper Trade series) have decided to make the model available in two versions - printed 1:50, and downloadable 1:33, to be printed on A4/Letter size.
Billy did this test build two years ago by simply enlarging the A4 originals to 1:33rd scale. This made the almost incredible detail of cockpit, landing gear and especially launching gear and bomb bay a bit 'easier' than in the 1:50 version. Of course these extremely complicated parts are all optional. However, the designer's own test build shows it can be done!

Printed version will be available by the end of January. The 1:33rd download version will be available withhin a few days from now. Pre orders are very welcome to help decide the print run. Those who have ordered before need not mail again; new orders via my website - Zeist Bouwplaten - Import, verkoop, ontwerp en productie van papieren schaalmodellen, maquettes en bouwplaten (cardmodels), Modelbouw, Rietveld cutoutmodels or direct to me, [email protected].

These are photographs of the 1/50th test build. Go back in this thread for Billy's super pictures.

I am putting more pictures on my Flickr collection: go to https://www.flickr.com/photos/zeist_bouwplaten/

Depending on the amount of interest we may consider another livery. Suggestions are very welcome - but please, with links to high detail images!

Has there been another color scheme for this kit?

Also is it still downloadable?

Isaac
I had bought the Ecardmodels download version and started doing a repaint as an F-102 of the 118th FIS, Connecticut ANG, but just drifted away from the project to do other artwork. Coincidently, I ran across it on my laptop and started working on it again a couple of days ago. I'd be happy to make it available to the designer when it's done.

Should be an interesting repaint. Hope it's available soon

I found a picture of a plastic model in that scheme

I checked out the decals, but wasn't impressed with the artwork, so I'm working from photos in Illustrator and Photoshop. The 118th has a 102 in that sceme as a gate guard up at Bradley. I'm trying to get the stenciling as close to real as possible, since there were quite a few variations over the years.

beautiful model-- also really like the use of light gray lines instead of black.
the black is harsh & keeps the segments from "flowing" together. Notice Billy's build, hardly notice the join lines. just MHO

When you are done with that repaint, you can send it on over to Ecards and you can get 20% of each sale of that scheme as a re-painter sale.

So, is it getting working lights like Apollo did?

Oh, I just went back to first page and realized this began a while back and there are 11 pages.
But, hey, cut me some slack for having insomnia at 03:52 in the morning.
