Sopwith Camel recommendations please
Which designer makes the most detailed Sopwith Camel model? I am specifically interested in the interior, engine, and other details.
My preference is for 1/72 scale, but I suppose I can downsize a 1/48 scale model without an appreciable loss of resolution. Thank you for your responses.

My votge would be for der Kamplieger's kit, already downscaled to 1/72, with a number of marking variations available at Ecardmodels.com.
Having built his, FG's, and Marek's, I think Roman's is the best in paper. Wyvern |

Does it have a detailed cockpit interior? That's my real interest.
Thanks for the recommendation, too!

Model Airways if you don't mind working in wood and brass and 1:16 scale

If you can find one there was an excelent Camel (choice of 2 versions) from Maly Modelarz in 2004. The design is by Paul Mistewicz (of Kartonowa Kolekcja) and is well-detailed including a cockpit. His designs are among the best out there IMHO and his Camel and Fokker Dr.I (also by MM) make a great pair. I know it doesn't meet your 1/72 preference but it may be worth a look/scan/resize...

I would start with one of the excellent (and free!) Prudenzio Camel's. They are about 1/48 as printed and have a basic cockpit/engine, but reduced to 1/72 scale you could easily scratch build a cockpit and engine.
