Cool Curtiss Wright Condor build in 1/100 scale

Hello my friends!

I started a build in 1/100 scale of Curtiss Condor. Is a Oddball design. My choice is Byrd machine used in Antartic Expedition of 1938.

I start the build from Floaters, because I fix model in a foajm jig to build biplans layout and add rigging...

The pontoons, i paint the edges with acrilic paint...

I made struts wih orthodontical wire reinforcement...

In the next I started the first half of fuselage

Nose...

Cockpit area, Made with carefull because a box section of fuse, the secret is right the panel lines...

Another sections done...

First half completed.

Pretty good! The struts are looking strong enough.

The third step is made a second half of fuselage...

The process is same...

Fuselage is ready, I started the build of interior wing...

I painted white edges with a mix of acrilic colors to simulate a chromate yellow.

I open with sharp #11 cirurgical scalpel the wing holes in fuselage and gluing the center section of wing...

After dry (24H) I gluing the external sections of wing with carefull...

At the moment I made a engine nacelles, pics later...

Interesting model. Is it available somewhere? American Airlines used thes airplanes just before the DC-2, so it's a very historical aircraft.

Great job on a very colorful aircraft. It's really coming along well.
