1/144 Albatros DI
Hello everyone, I put this one up on the wingsofwar site, but thought I might add it here for those who are interested in such things. It is a repaint and a resize of an Eric Johnson 1/72 model, and it went together very nicely. Next up is a 1/144 Albatros DII based off the same model, modified struts to reflect the differences between the two. Enjoy, and comments are always welcome!

Excellent repaint and build, and a nice stable of 1/144.
Thanks for sharing these images. Don |

Nice neat build, and an equally fine repaint. I can't believe how great this turned out in 1/144.

Thanks for the comments, gents, I was pleasantly surprised with how it turned out in 1/144 as well, Don, it was my first true attempt at doing a petal nosecone, and I used a technique I found here on the forum, the one using a rolled up solid cylinder of paper, then gently pushing the nosecone into it, which forces the petals gently together, which worked out great. I definitely could not have done as well using any other method.
There is also a paper Fokker D.VII in the 1/144 stable at my house too, but I figured the time period was too distant to put all three together. That show is more of a "predator and prey" shot. Doug |
