N1K1 Kyofu Rex 1:33
This was a model that was recently posted at this community at the following thread
phobby.com I downloaded this model and built it, and I have to say it was a real gem. As a designer of paper, I was interested in all that was taking place here. We have a talented person who is interested in models of different subjects. And we have the Pirates, who drove him to give away his models. I don't want to try and present myself as Altruistic, but I think that we as a community need to do more than say thanks to these individuals who go out of their way to provide models for us. I sent Kancho a sum of money that represented what it was worth to me after I built it. He didn't ask for any money, but it is only fair to donate for the talents that he shared with us. His website has a place to donate. Build this model. Pay the designer. Sleep better at night. He deserves this much if you derive pleasure from his efforts. The model was 1:48 and I resized it to 1:33, also I added the machine guns in the front cowling. Other than that it was built as it was designed from his kit. OK the sermon is ended, and here are the pics of the model . Enjoy!! I know I did....

To download Kancho's Rex: on his main page, click the picture of the model you want to download. When the next page loads, scroll down a bit and under the picture thumbnail of the model, there is a PDF icon and link under the word Files. Click the link to go to another page with the file name on top and NOT highlighted. On this page you will see a box on the right that says Data....and at the very bottom of that Data box is the blue download link to get the file. |

I just saw this thread. Agreed, this model shows craftsmanship and attention to detail. It really looks beautiful. Interesting subject, too. The Japanese float planes really showed quite a growth in design and capability as the war progressed.
