1/144 AH-1 Cobra Super Detailed

Just recently finished my annual super detailed model. Seems like I only get one of these done per year,
while I do several other "stock" builds.

I started with the BPM (BestPaperModel) AH-1F, rescaled it to 1/144, and started the build. There were
alot of changes I made to an already great kit. Here is the information I will supply when I hit the contest trail with it.

COCKPIT DOORS OPENED, COCKPIT DETAILED INCLUDING HEAD REST, SEAT CUSHIONS, SEAT BELTS, TELESCOPIC SIGHT UNIT,
RUDDER PEDALS CUT OUT, MODIFIED INSTRUMENT PANELS, ADDED SIDE CONSOLES, ADDED CYCLIC CONTROLS, ADDED
PITCH CONTROLS, ADDED WEAPONS CONTROL TO FRONT COCKPIT, HUD IN PILOT STATION, DOOR RELEASE HANDLES ADDED,
MIRROR ADDED IN FRONT COCKPIT, COMPASS ADDED IN FRONT COCKPIT, ADDED DOOR HOLD OPEN RODS, CUT OUT PRINTED
CANOPY GLASS AND INSTALLED CLEAR PANELS, MAIN ROTOR DETAILED, SHADED AREAS CUT OUT, PARTS ADDED FOR
3D SHAPE, TAIL ROTOR DETAILED WITH ADDITONAL PARTS FOR EFFECT, ADDED WIRE SKIDS, ADDED DETAIL TO SKIDS INCLUDING SKID LIGHT
ADDED 3D SHAPE GENERATOR BULGE BELOW MAIN ROTOR AND AIR DIVERTORS IN FRONT OF INTAKES,
ADDED ANTENNAS (4), ADDED TAIL SKID, ADS ASSEMBLY
PANEL LINES WEATHERED AND EMBOSSED FOR DEPTH AND DEFINITION
REPLACED ONE PIECE 20MM CHAIN GUN BARRELS WITH SEPARATE BARRELS

And now, a few pictures.

Nicely done Ray.

You could go Heavy, and add a second set of 19 shot pods to the outboard pylon

Ray,

That is remarkable.

I have a hard time visualizing what size these models are. Would you be willing to include something, an object that we viewers are familiar with, coin, 1" worth of ruler, car key........ That would help realize the size of your models?

I'm not asking for this on every image, just something on 1 image of your choice.

Again, amazing work,

SFX

Incredibly detailed work. Microsurgeons would be awed. Just fantastic.
