I think that style of canopy is totally acceptable.
I've made a few of those, but they usually fall apart because my glue doesn't hold it too well. What did you use?

Sure Clashter. More pics here.

Gharbad, what I used was good old transparent masking tape. Just paste a little piece of tape in each union, they are going to be hidden behind the canopy frame, so they won't show up. Once all the little tape pieces are
in place, take the canopy with a couple of tweezers, hold it about 30 cm (1 foot) from the kitchen stove, and let the heat come to the canopy to take its shape... this is to give proper shape of the canopy, otherwise you will find problems at the time of attaching the canopy on its place. I shall post photos of this process later on.

Thanks :D

Looks great!

I was looking at his models just the other night trying to figure out which one I wanted to order. The P39 with the pin-up girl on it was appealing, until I realized I couldn't display it at home or work (doh!).
I'm guessing I'll end up with more than a couple of his planes before I'm done.

Thank you very much for you comments, friends.

Yes, Ron, I recommend you Dr. Zarkovīs models. I'm building the P-40, and it's just fun and rewarding to build it too. In that, the canopy also will be made from transparent film.

How come I've never see any photo with this of canopies? As you can see in the second photo above, the opening from the cuts of the canopy show very clear; that's unacceptable for many of you. But again, it's all a matter of taste.

Well, I have one shot with that kind:

It's good enough for me, especially since my arm's length is pretty long :D

Beautiful the P-47 there, Gharbad! And the color is just very appealing.

But yes, if you didn't say so, I've never guess it's a... (what should we call this kind of canopies?)... paper made canopy (?).
Thank you.

(Would that kind of canopy be acceptable for a contest? I wonder).
