Thanks! I thought it would be a really ugly plane, but I built it because of the penguin :D

I have no idea what to call it.
I actually thought more people do it this way than molding their own.
Almost every Maly kit I have has a template for it, and that's the majority of my models.

As for contests, I've never been to one.

Send a message via ICQ to Johnny
Congrats with a very nice build!!
The canopy issue must be what you are satisfied with
If you are happy with it that way, just leave it there!

I'm guessing I'll end up with more than a couple of his planes before I'm done.
I've built Emil's Westland Whirlwind and the H-53 Medevac helicopter. Both are excellent kits and have earned a lot of oohs and aahs at IPMS shows. They are 1/32 scale, on A4 paper--I print them at 94% which gives me 1/34 and fits on letter-size paper.
I drew some medical supply cases for the H53; Moshe has them as free downloads on his site at http://www.papermodels.co.il.

No worries,

Thumbs up

Gerardo,

Your canopy came out well, especially considering it was originally just a flat sheet of thin plastic. The vac-formed canopies look good, but I think yours matches the look of the rest of model better. Cardmodel purists would probably prefer your canopy too.

Johnny, GB, you guys are two of my top teachers here, so coming from you is rewarding. Thanks.

Thank you Roger, it would be good to know of more people who had made this kind of canopies.

I have had some success using sculpy for the mold, and pressing into the softened plastic
but they don't all turn out perfect...the larger models are more difficult..good luck!

It does look good.................. Dave did this type canopy at the OCM. It can be a booger to do, but it does look much better than the paper version I did!:o

Gerardo.................. do you sleep? You are modeling at light speed!

Whatever............ you are really putting out some quality builds!

I just got asked to do the Library Display again, so I'm going to have to do some better quality builds...........at least I have until May 2008:D
