That looks pretty good. Way better than when I tried to foray into soda can modelling. (How did you hide all the blood?)

BTW, soda can is the correct name for this kind of modelling. Learnt something everyday.

Some more updates. Landing gears fixed and the build was uneventful, a surprise for me, too.
What's left to be done apart from some cosmetic stuffs like wheel well doors, pylons, is the spinning props. Then it will be done. Papermate |

World's first soda can plane, the Bronco OV-10, 1/72, designed by Aaron Murphy
The soda can Bronco OV-10 at 1/72 is now completed. It's the world's first soda can aircraft
model, I boast, at 1/72 and with spinning props. First ever Murph's model in soda can as well. Though it's Aaron's earlier design with no formers and wing struts, the templates are 99% fitting, leaving 1% for trimming to manoeuvre. It's also my first successful soda can plane model. The debutante is experimental and just for fun. Hopefully, future builds will improve in various areas. And here are the pictures. The last one shows the rendezvous of Bronco and Black Widow at the celebration party. Papermate |

That's just what I always called it, cause that's where I got my raw material.

Very nice! Why did you elect to not use the bare metal side of the can? Just for fun, I assume.
Gene K BTW - What is "OBP"? Last edited by Gene K; 05-31-2017 at 05:27 AM. |

Thanks, guys. OBP stands for Odd Ball Productions, it's Aaron's previous so-called brand name.
I have actually tried the bare metal side of the can to make an A20 Havoc three to four years ago. I scored out all the panel lines and graphics like the American five pointed star etc painstakingly and stopped building just after the cockpit/nose section. Because at that time I had not come across the super glue that I'm using now and was not aware that I should use paper as a medium in between two layers of can material. So, here we are now, the secret is paper. You can never glue the can together no matter how hard you press them. This is when the paper comes in. Papermate |

I googled for soda can planes, found lots of them, but quite unlike what I have presented.
Yeah, some times they call pop can planes as well. I used to say "pops" instead of "pop". Papermate |
