"I have them all here, you don't have to go elsewhere to look for any of it!"
That's what I would like to hear.

Yeah, I could probably do it that. I need to find out the major differences between the DC-2 and DC-3. Tail, nose and engines I know of.

DC-3 also had a larger fuselage (92 inches wide vs 66 inches in the DC-2).

As if I don't have enough of Aaron's creations on my build/repaint list, yes, a 247 would be a wonderful addition to the list. Many great schemes out there.

John

John,

That Chevron Standard paint scheme looks suspiciously like the old Canadian Pacific Airlines scheme.

Thanks,
Gary

Provenance:

Donation from California Standard Oil Company, Alberta
This aircraft was manufactured as a 247 in 1934 by Boeing Aircraft Company and was converted to a 247D model in July 1935. It flew for more than ten different operators, including United Air Lines, the RCAF, Quebec Airways and Canadian Pacific Airlines. It was donated to the Museum in 1967 by its last operator, California Standard Oil of Calgary, Alberta. It is one of four complete 247s still existing; the others are located in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Could be that Standard Oil left it in the CP scheme.

Regards,
John

I'm in the process of beta building the B-25 Maid in the Shade. The original scale is 1/40 but I have reduced it to 1/72 to save space and to fit in this series. The build pictures show just the fuselage and the main wings, resting on a "stand" in the true sense of the word. I have found it amazing to look at these two WIP projects making an unusual form of art. Maybe a caption for these two pictures is needed, any ideas?

Thanks, Butelczynski. The latest update, without props and landing gears and guns. Yep, at 1/72, still looks okay.
