Very, very clean build. That glossy finish really stands out. Thank you papermate.

Thank you all, my friends, especially John for your very detailed repaint. Credit should also go to Aaron for the design, too.

No.66 Tupolev TU-16 Badger, 1/65

No.66 in this series is Murph's refresh of TU-16 which was previously scaled at 1/72 in his OBP days. I also beta built for him on that occasion and so I thought it must be of the same scale with this new version of TU-16 Metal with two Komets under the wings. It is not until I finished the beta build that I found out that the scale of the new model is 1/65. Silver paper was used to build this model, just in case you may ask.

Anyway, as it's not too far off from 1/72, thus I permit it to be on this thread as if it were 1/72. In true 1/72, the plane should be about 10% smaller. WTF, who cares?

Let's see the pictures.

Great looking Badger papermate. The silver paper sure adds to the model. Love the under wing additions too.

The scale is what it is.

It sure looks very good.
About the paper source.
Which brand?
I have been trying to get metallic looking paper and only found metalized, which is like card stock.

Wow, very nicely built. The cruise missiles are kits by themselves. Looks like a great kit from Aaron.

This model so reminds me of old Kranich models made in East Germany.A lot of them were printed on silver paper by design and they looked exactly like this.

Great build.KS-1 Komets are new or from some other kit?

The KS-1 Komet is new. I designed it specifically for the Tu-16. Though if there's enough interest, I can release it separately. I'm also working on a KSR-2.

Yeah, every time I presented a silver or chrome paper model, people would ask about the source etc. Like I mentioned long time before, I don’t know as they were closing sale items that I found in a computer consumables and paper shop many many years ago. It has vanished from the market since. Maybe nowadays we can try TaoBoa to search for it.
