Thank you,
Long time ago I was able to find the silver paper but today I have tried and nothing. Your plane looks great, and kudos for the designer! |

Beta Build Lockheed L-188 Electra II, 1/76, original scale 1/68
I'm beta building Aaron's Electra, the tanker as a start and then the P3 and lastly the AA. This kit is a great one as I build along; the colour is eye-catchingly white and yellow on the fuselage and silvery grey on the wings. The fuselage in now in food wraps to prevent glue and finger messing as glossy Kodak photoprint papers are used.
The original scale of this kit is about 1/68 and my build is about 1/76 because of an oversight in shrinking the templates. Just found out after taking pictures and re-measurement. Well, it's not a long shot from 1/72 and thus all these three planes will come here for presentation one after another, at this scale of 1/76. You cheat, yep, I do but just give it a hahaha and let go because my original intent was 1/72 and all the templates are printed, fait accompli, so to speak. How come this miscalculation, well, I played lazy by just measuring the printed templates instead of building a dirty quick build of the fuselage for the rescaling. There are some minor improvement/corrections that Aaron will no doubt work on them easily after seeing this post. Last edited by papermate; 08-08-2021 at 10:14 PM. A picture of the fuselage to give you an idea how long the model is if built at a scale of 1/68.
